Essential Job Functions
This policy applies to all terms and conditions of employment, including recruiting, hiring, placement, promotion, termination, layoff, recall, transfer, leaves of absence, compensation and training.
- Pulls and releases orders from the Leveling/Consolidation cage when it is time for them to ship.
- Receives orders into the Leveling/Consolidation cage as they come in.
- Receives incoming materials and orders into the shipping/receiving dept.
- Uses forklift to pick up/move/deliver incoming materials/chemicals/orders that are received in by shipping
- Uses forklift to maneuver wooden crates, heavier items, etc.
- Packs up to 35 lbs of product in prefabricated cardboard boxes; builds wooden crates to house larger, heavier items or quantities of smaller boxes.
- Will organize incoming OP orders in the QA dept.
- Must be able to get along well with others.
- Must be able to work scheduled shift and meet company attendance requirements; must be flexible enough to stay late or modify work hours on short notice, if production deadlines require it.
- Must be able to perform the job safely; must comply with company safety rules and procedures.
- Must follow the lean philosophy and practice the 5 S’s on a daily basis.
- Have good verbal and written English communication skills; be able to work from written and verbal instructions..
- Be detail oriented and able to multi-task several functions.
- Be able to organize work to optimize efficiency.
- Must have forklift experience
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Prefer previous computer data entry experience.
- Ability to function in high-pressure situations.
- Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations
- Manual dexterity to operate forklift, staple gun, pallet jack, hand truck, nail gun, table saw, stretch wrap and skid-banding equipment, hand tools, computer terminal, and calculator.
- Correctable vision and hearing.
- Ability to sit, walk, stand, bend waist and neck, squat, twist neck and waist, use hands to grasp, manipulate, push, pull and reach and the ability to lift up to 35 lbs., etc.
- Must be able to maneuver successfully through a 75,000 square foot manufacturing facility.
