Position Summary
We are seeking a full-time onsite Business Intelligence Developer to support a 6-month reporting and analytics initiative. This role will focus on building interactive business reporting tools using SAP HANA data, primarily surfaced through SAP HANA CDS views, and data from other internal business applications.
The ideal candidate will have strong Power BI, Power Query, SQL, and data modeling skills, along with the ability to work with SAP HANA CDS views and underlying data structures, and partner with IT resources to identify the correct data sources for reporting.
This role requires someone who can work directly with business leadership and IT to define requirements, validate data, build reports, revise logic, and develop reporting tools that support management decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
- Build interactive Power BI reports and dashboards using SAP HANA and other internal business data sources.
- Work with business leadership and the CIO to define reporting requirements and business logic.
- Identify, validate, and consume SAP HANA CDS views and other appropriate data sources for reporting.
- Combine data from SAP and external business applications into usable reporting models.
- Develop dashboards with slicers, filters, drilldowns, trend views, and exception reporting.
- Support reporting across sales, quoting, operations, margin, backlog, and other business areas.
- Validate report output against known business results and help resolve data issues.
- Document data sources, report logic, calculations, assumptions, and refresh processes.
- Train internal users on how to use and maintain reporting tools.
Required Skills
- Experience working with SAP HANA CDS views (including standard and custom/extension views), calculation views, tables, and other reporting structures.
- Strong Power BI report and dashboard development experience.
- Strong Power Query, SQL, data transformation, and data modeling skills.
- Experience building interactive reports from ERP or business system data.
- Ability to combine data from multiple systems into a single reporting model.
- Strong DAX skills for Power BI measures and calculations.
- Ability to work with business users to define requirements and validate output.
- Strong communication skills with both technical and non-technical users.
- Ability to work onsite full-time.
- Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States and must not require current or future employer sponsorship for employment visa status.
Preferred Skills
- Deeper SAP S/4HANA experience, including building or extending CDS and calculation views, plus SAP BW, BusinessObjects, SAP Analytics Cloud, or similar SAP reporting experience.
- Experience with sales, quoting, customer, product, pricing, order, cost, or margin reporting.
- Experience integrating ERP data with external applications.
- Manufacturing, aerospace, industrial, or engineered products experience.
- Experience building management reporting tools that support business decisions.
· Ability to write or modify Power Query M code for advanced data transformation.
· .NET / C# programming experience is a plus, particularly for reporting automation, data integration, or internal business applications.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is a hands-on BI developer who understands both reporting tools and business data. This person should be able to work with SAP HANA CDS views and other SAP data, build reliable Power BI models, ask good questions, validate results, and improve reports through multiple iterations.
We are looking for someone who can work onsite with business leadership and IT, translate business needs into reporting tools, and leave behind a documented, maintainable reporting process.
Compensation
Compensation range: $140,000 upwards annualized salary, depending on experience.
This is a temporary full-time W-2 position with an expected duration of approximately 6 months.
