Greet visitors, sell tickets, and share museum information Operate the gift shop, including cash register operations and cash handling Prepare and close daily sales deposits Assist with museum tours and orientations Represent the museum at events and support event coordination Monitor exhibits for environmental conditions (temperature, humidity, pests) Lightly clean and maintain museum spaces (gift shop, lecture hall, buildings, restrooms) Assist with grounds upkeep and custodial duties as needed Report issues to the Director or the appropriate LU department Perform other duties as assigned
Must be a current Lamar University student Must be Federal Work-Study eligible (as determined by Financial Aid) Dependable, prompt, and able to follow directions Strong customer service and communication skills Ability to work efficiently, accurately, and independently Ability to stand for extended periods, indoors and outdoors Must be able to lift and move 30 pounds (tables, chairs, supplies) May be exposed to variable weather during events or groundskeeping
Experience with customer service, cash handling, or gift shop operations
Experience using a cash register
