We are seeking a dedicated and professional Dental Receptionist to join our pediatric dental team. As a Dental Receptionist, you will serve as the first point of contact for patients, managing appointment scheduling, insurance verification, and maintaining accurate records. Your role is vital in ensuring smooth clinic operations and delivering a welcoming environment for all patients.
Responsibilities
- Greet patients warmly and professionally, ensuring a positive first impression and excellent patient service.
- Schedule appointments efficiently using dental practice management software such as Open Dental , while managing multi-line phone systems.
- Verify insurance coverage and benefits to facilitate accurate billing processes.
- Collect payments.
- Maintain precise dental and medical records by updating patient information and managing filing systems in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Assist with intake procedures, including patient registration, data entry, and documentation review to streamline clinic workflows.
- Manage office operations related to appointment reminders, follow-up calls, and patient inquiries with professionalism and courtesy.
- Support the dental team by coordinating care plans, handling medical documentation, and ensuring adherence to health information management standards.
Experience
- Prior experience working in a dental or medical office environment is essential; clinic experience is highly preferred.
- Proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, ICD coding (ICD-9/10), CPT coding, and medical billing procedures.
- Familiarity with insurance verification processes.
- Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) and typing accuracy (10 key typing).
- Demonstrated ability to handle multi-line phone systems with professional phone etiquette.
- Bilingual abilities are desirable to serve diverse patient populations effectively.
