Procurement and Inventory Specialist

Job Title: Procurement/Supply Inventory Control Specialist

Job Summary:
The Procurement Specialist is responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing goods and services necessary for an organization’s operations. This role ensures cost-effectiveness, quality, and timely delivery while maintaining strong supplier relationships and compliance with company policies.

Key Responsibilities:

• Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers based on quality, cost, and reliability
• Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms with vendors
• Prepare and process purchase orders in accordance with company procedures
• Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with internal departments to forecast needs
• Ensure timely delivery of goods and resolve any supply issues or discrepancies
• Maintain accurate procurement records and documentation
• Analyze market trends to identify cost-saving opportunities
• Ensure compliance with company policies, legal regulations, and ethical standards
• Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and stakeholders

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or related field (or equivalent experience)
• Proven experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain roles
• Strong negotiation and communication skills
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office (especially Excel)
• Knowledge of contract management and vendor sourcing

Preferred Skills:

• Certification such as CPSM (Certified Professional in Supply Management) or CPIM
• Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle)
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively

Work Environment:

• Typically office-based with occasional supplier visits
• May require handling multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously

Other Job Details:

• Day hours: 8am-4:30pm Monday through Friday
