Job Title: Procurement/Supply Inventory Control Specialist
Job Summary:
The Procurement Specialist is responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing goods and services necessary for an organization’s operations. This role ensures cost-effectiveness, quality, and timely delivery while maintaining strong supplier relationships and compliance with company policies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers based on quality, cost, and reliability
- Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms with vendors
- Prepare and process purchase orders in accordance with company procedures
- Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with internal departments to forecast needs
- Ensure timely delivery of goods and resolve any supply issues or discrepancies
- Maintain accurate procurement records and documentation
- Analyze market trends to identify cost-saving opportunities
- Ensure compliance with company policies, legal regulations, and ethical standards
- Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and stakeholders
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Proven experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain roles
- Strong negotiation and communication skills
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office (especially Excel)
- Knowledge of contract management and vendor sourcing
Preferred Skills:
- Certification such as CPSM (Certified Professional in Supply Management) or CPIM
- Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle)
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
Work Environment:
- Typically office-based with occasional supplier visits
- May require handling multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously
Other Job Details:
- Day hours: 8am-4:30pm Monday through Friday
