Warranty Administrator
Lake Viking Marine is looking for an organized, detail-oriented, and dependable Warranty Administrator to join our team.
This full-time, year-round position is responsible for managing manufacturer warranty claims from initial repair authorization through final reimbursement. You will work closely with our service team, technicians, parts department, customers, and manufacturer representatives to make sure warranty claims are properly documented, submitted promptly, and followed through to completion.
Our primary manufacturer partners include Cobalt Boats, Barletta Boats, Yamaha, Mercury Marine, and Volvo Penta.
Previous marine warranty experience is preferred, but we are willing to train the right candidate who has strong organizational skills, computer proficiency, mechanical aptitude, and the ability to communicate effectively.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, submit, track, and process manufacturer warranty claims from start to finish
- Obtain required warranty authorizations and ensure repairs meet manufacturer policies and documentation requirements
- Work closely with service writers and technicians to gather accurate job descriptions, labor times, diagnostic information, photos, and other required documentation
- Monitor open, pending, rejected, and unpaid warranty claims and follow up with manufacturers until each claim is resolved
- Coordinate the retention, tagging, documentation, return, or disposal of warranty parts according to manufacturer requirements
- Track manufacturer payments, credits, and reimbursements and follow up on discrepancies or outstanding amounts
- Communicate with manufacturer warranty departments and representatives to resolve claim questions and obtain approvals
- Maintain accurate and organized records of claims, authorizations, labor, parts, documentation, credits, and reimbursements
- Assist with customer communication when necessary regarding warranty-related repairs or manufacturer requirements
- Work with the service and parts departments to help keep warranty repairs moving efficiently
Qualifications
- Strong computer skills and ability to learn dealer management software and manufacturer warranty portals
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple open claims, documentation requirements, and deadlines at the same time
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Basic mechanical aptitude and ability to understand repair terminology and service documentation
- Ability to communicate professionally with technicians, customers, service staff, and manufacturer representatives
- Previous experience in warranty administration, service writing, parts, automotive, powersports, or marine service is preferred
- Marine industry experience is a plus, but not required
- Willingness to learn manufacturer-specific warranty procedures and requirements
