DOCK & LIFT SPECIALIST – SALES, SERVICE & INSTALLATION

Lake Viking Marine
Gallatin, MO Full Time
POSTED ON 7/24/2026
AVAILABLE BEFORE 11/21/2026

ABOUT THE ROLE

Lake Viking Marine is looking for a dependable, mechanically inclined individual to join our team as a Dock & Lift Specialist. This is a full-time, year-round position responsible for virtually all aspects of our dock, boat lift, and waterfront equipment business.

This is a highly varied, hands-on position. Depending on the day, you may be building and installing a new dock, troubleshooting or repairing a boat lift, adding accessories to an existing dock, installing a PWC port, or meeting with a lakefront property owner to help design and sell a new dock or lift system.

The position combines construction, mechanical work, service, installation, and customer-facing sales. During the off-season, this position also assists with other dealership operations, including boat hauling, boat shows, equipment moves, and other projects as needed.

If you enjoy working outdoors and on the water, solving mechanical problems, building things, working directly with customers, and having variety in your workday, this position offers a unique opportunity to do all of those things.

This is not a seasonal dock-hand position. We are looking for someone interested in developing long-term expertise in dock construction, boat lift service, waterfront equipment, and sales.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Dock Construction & Installation: Assemble, build, modify, install, and repair residential dock systems on Lake Viking and surrounding waters.
  • Boat Lift Sales & Service: Install, troubleshoot, service, repair, and accessorize boat lifts/hoists and related equipment.
  • PWC Ports & Waterfront Accessories: Install and service PWC ports, dock accessories, lift accessories, ladders, bumpers, lighting, and other waterfront equipment.
  • Service & Repair: Diagnose problems with existing docks, lifts, and accessories and determine appropriate repairs or replacement options.
  • Sales & Customer Service: Work directly with lakefront property owners to understand their needs, recommend solutions, and sell docks, lifts, accessories, and related equipment.
  • Customer Communication: Maintain clear, professional, and friendly communication with customers regarding sales inquiries, scheduling, project progress, service needs, and completion of work.
  • Marine Operations: Safely operate work boats, barges, trailers, hand tools, power tools, and other equipment required for dock and lift work.
  • Material Handling: Load, unload, transport, organize, and maintain dock, lift, and construction materials.
  • Off-Season Dealership Support: Assist with boat hauling, boat shows, equipment moves, and other dealership projects during the slower dock season.

WHAT WE OFFER

  • Competitive Pay: Starting base rate of $18.00/hour, with higher pay available based on experience.
  • Sales Commission: Generous commission structure on dock and related sales, providing additional earning potential.
  • Year-Round Employment: Full-time employment 12 months a year. Unlike many dock and marine construction positions, this is not seasonal work. During the slower dock season, you will assist with boat hauling, boat shows, and other dealership operations.
  • Benefits Package: Health insurance, 401(k) retirement plan, and paid time off (PTO).
  • Variety: A hands-on position combining construction, mechanical work, marine operations, customer service, and sales.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot basic mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Comfortable using hand tools, power tools, and construction equipment.
  • Experience with docks, boat lifts, marine service, construction, welding, fabrication, electrical work, or carpentry is preferred but not required. We are willing to train the right person.
  • Comfortable working directly with customers, understanding their needs, and recommending and selling products and services.
  • Basic computer skills for managing sales orders, looking up parts, responding to customer emails, and documenting service/work orders.
  • Ability to perform physically demanding work, including lifting and handling heavy materials.
  • Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions and working safely on and around the water.
  • Ability to safely operate boats and tow trailers, or willingness to learn.
  • Dependable, self-motivated, and able to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license.

Pay: From $18.00 per hour

Benefits:

  • 401(k)
