NOTICE OF VACANCY

Summer School 2026 - INFORMATION

March 16, 2026

Hourly Rates: 

Teachers - $43.46 per hour

Teaching Assistants - $28.65 per hour  

Summer School Preparation - $30.75 per hour 

Summer School Clean Up - $30.75 per hour

Summer School Training/Workshops (as needed) - $22.96 if training is after June 30th 

 

*Attendance:

Absences are for emergencies only.  An absence without prior approval causes disruption to the entire program. The expectation is that employees will be present for all days. Lapses in attendance will be considered when hiring for future Summer School employment opportunities. 

 

All positions are contingent upon enrollment, maintenance of enrollment and student attendance. Employees will not be paid when students are absent. If attendance rate drops during Summer School, staff requirements and needs will be adjusted accordingly.

K-12 Self-Contained Developmental Special Education – Middle School

Room Planning/Preparation Date: 

June 18, 2026 - 3:30-4:30: K-12 Special Ed: Planning @ William T. Hoag (room 120) - $30.15

July 2, 2026 - 8:00-10:00: Gen Ed 9-12 Curriculum Prep

July 2,  2026 - 8:00-11:30: K-12 Special Ed: Faculty meeting, curriculum planning/training, room preparation @ WGH Middle School (room 112/113)

If you are new to teaching summer school and currently don’t punch in, please contact HR at 716-926-2228 or 716-926-2205 to make an appointment to be processed for the electronic time system.

Summer School - Instructional Staff

Dates/Times:

  • Monday through Friday July 6- July 24, 2026
  • Student sessions will be 7:30-9:30am (Session 1) and 9:40-11:40am (Session 2) 
  • Teachers will work 7:15-11:45am
  • Additional hours will be allotted for science teachers to prep lab practicals as necessary (up to 2 hours)
  • Seniority will be used when multiple staff members apply for the same position.
  • Teachers will assist in morning breakfast supervision and be assigned accordingly by the supervisor.

Instructional Implementation Leader (1) (Hours may vary and may extend beyond the four-week program.)

Applicants will apply and interviews will occur prior to summer school as needed. Applicants must be steeped in Edmentum  and be willing to collaborate with all staff to meet the needs of students.

Leader will collaborate with teachers and administrators to set up classes, implement the program in all contents, oversee training and support, and guide students through the Edmentum curriculum to completion.

Special Education-CT (2)

Applicants will apply and be assigned a grade level/content based on need and enrollment. 

Applicants should be prepared to provide whole group/small group instruction with different groups to maximize instructional time and accelerate the learning process with differentiated instruction, targeted instruction and the use of technology.  Applicants should be prepared to provide oversight of Edmentum  and instruction and support to students as they complete their online learning.
