Driver Education @ High School (Summer Program)

NOTICE OF VACANCY

March 31, 2026

The Lake Shore Central School District is seeking qualified candidates for the following position:

Driver Education @ High School (Summer Program)

Driver Education Program Teacher 

Classes start July 6th and continue through July 30th. 

(July 31, emergency make-up date.) 

Classes will begin at 7:30 a.m. and end at 3:20 p.m.

Classes will run as follows:

• July 6 - July 9     (M-Th)
• July 13 - July 16 (M-Th) 
• July 20 - July 23 (M-Th)
• July 27 - July 30 (M-Th)

Salary: LSCTA contract @ $42.61/Hour

All positions are contingent upon enrollment, maintenance of enrollment and student attendance. Teachers will not be paid when students are absent.  If attendance drops, staff requirements will be adjusted accordingly. The expectation is that teachers will be present for all days. Lapses in attendance will be considered when hiring for future summer employment opportunities.

Room and Curriculum Preparation:

DATE TBD – Two hours for room and curriculum preparation are available.  Upon receiving the Summer School assignment, you must email Christine Starks indicating that you will come to the High School from 8:00 – 10:00 a.m. on July 2, 2026 for room preparation.  Your intentions to participate in room and curriculum preparation are due by June 20, 2026.  Class lists and other pertinent information will be available through email.  You will not be compensated without prior notification.  

All candidates for the posted position must possess New York State certification in the required grade/subject area. Only teachers holding a permanent position with the district can apply for this posting. Specific questions about the announced opening should be directed to the W.T. Hoag Building/Program Administrator BEFORE submitting your letter of interest.
