Position Summary:
The Respiratory Therapy Student assists respiratory therapists with preparing for and providing patient care.
- Delivers routine therapy as delegated by a therapist.
- Assesses patient condition and delivers appropriate treatment.
- Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition.
- Educates the patient and family about the patient's illness and provides information about community support groups and other resources.
- Monitors, receives, stocks, and distributes respiratory care supplies and medical gas cylinders.
- Maintains storage areas with required supply levels and equipment.
What we are looking for:
- State Board of Respiratory Care (Student)
- Must be enrolled in an accredited respiratory therapy program and completed a minimum of 2 semesters of the program.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) required one month from hire date
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) preferred
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) preferred
- Neonatal Resuscitation Provider (NRP) preferred
- Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
