Responsibilities

• Answer multi-line phone systems promptly and professionally, demonstrating excellent phone etiquette and customer service skills.
• Assess emergency calls through phone triage, gathering essential information efficiently to determine the appropriate response.
• Utilize computer-aided dispatch (CAD) software to log incidents accurately, enter data swiftly, and track dispatch activities.
• Coordinate with law enforcement agencies, fire departments, EMS teams, and other first responders using radio communication systems and GPS technology.
• Provide emergency medical dispatch (EMD) instructions based on established protocols such as basic life support (BLS), CPR, first aid, and emergency medical dispatch procedures.
• Maintain clear and concise communication during high-pressure situations while managing conflict or tense interactions with callers or responders.
• Document all call details meticulously through transcription and data entry to ensure comprehensive records for future reference.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in EMT roles or emergency medical services is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with GIS (Geographic Information Systems), GPS technology, and police dispatch procedures enhances your effectiveness in this role.
• Demonstrated ability to operate radio communication systems, CAD software, telephony equipment, and multi-line phone systems efficiently.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to remain calm under pressure while providing clear instructions during emergencies.
• Proven analysis skills for assessing situations quickly and making sound decisions in fast-paced environments.
• Strong typing speed and technical proficiency with computers for accurate data entry and documentation.
• Ability to handle conflict management with professionalism while maintaining a focus on safety and resolution.
