Senior Accountant

Lake Country Dairy, a division of Schuman Cheese, is an award-winning producer of Italian and Alpine style cheeses. We are proud to be a part of Wisconsin's strong tradition of cheesemaking and we produce some of the best cheese in the world. (Seriously, it's soooo good!)

We are now hiring a Senior Accountant to join our team at our Turtle Lake, WI location.   Responsibilities include: Accounts Payable, General Ledger, Credit Card Payments, Bank Reconciliations and other general accounting functions.  

Responsibilities:

• Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes (approximately 50% of time)
  • Review invoices, process and post payments
  • Manage customer billing process and apply payments against invoices
• Work with vendors as needed on invoice discrepancies, payment authorization and general questions
• Complete month end financial reporting
• Track expenditures and manage depreciation schedule
• Prepare and record journal and general ledger entries with necessary supporting documentation
• Generate financial statements (balance sheet, income statement, profit and loss statement and other reports)
• Complete reconciliation of sales and inventory
• Assist with annual financial audit
• Assist with budgeting and financial analysis
• Prepare internal plant reporting KPI's
• Implement continuous improvement strategies
• Ensure documentation of accounting practices
• Ensure compliance with accounting policies and procedures according to generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)

• Bachelors or Associates Degree in Accounting, Finance or Related Field
• 4 Years Accounting Experience
• Advanced proficiency in Excel, proficiency with accounting software system preferred
• Must be well organized with a strong attention to detail and accuracy

Compensation and Benefits:

The budgeted salary range for this position is $65,000-$85,000 with a 10% annual bonus potential.

Salary range is based on consideration of required qualifications, experience, education, skill, training, certifications or seniority, etc. Schuman Cheese reserves the right to offer the selected candidate or applicant an hourly rate or salary at an appropriate level to be set and determined by Schuman Cheese that is commensurate with the applicant’s qualifications, experience, education, skill, training, certifications or seniority.
