Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site, Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM CST position for a Senior Accountant based in Lakeville, MN.
This role is a key individual contributor responsible for executing and maintaining day-to-day accounting operations and financial reporting within a small, collaborative environment. The Senior Accountant reports directly to the Business Operations Manager and works closely with leadership to support financial visibility and business operations.
The Senior Accountant will take ownership of core accounting processes and deliver accurate, timely financial information, while supporting analysis that informs business decisions.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute general ledger activities, including journal entries and account reconciliations
- Support and perform month-end and year-end close processes
- Prepare financial statements and internal reporting
- Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, and invoicing
- Monitor cash activity and assist with cash reporting
- Support payroll processing and related accounting entries
- Prepare sales commission calculations
- Assist with budgets and forecasts, including financial modeling
- Provide financial analysis to support business decisions
- Coordinate with external CPA firms for audit and tax preparation
- Ensure GAAP compliance and regulatory adherence
- Perform multi-state tax filings
- Identify and support process improvements
- Collaborate cross-functionally with operations, sales, and leadership
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 3–6 years of accounting experience
- Experience with general ledger, reconciliations, and financial reporting
- Experience supporting month-end close
- Payroll and/or commission experience preferred
- Strong understanding of GAAP
- Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, data analysis)
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
- Strong communication skills
- QuickBooks Desktop experience
Preferred Experience
- Small to mid-sized company experience
- Multi-state tax experience
- CPA or progress toward CPA is a plus
- Experience in government or regulated environments

- Ability to obtain government clearance if required
