What are the responsibilities and job description for the Food Runner position at LAKE BOWL INC?
POSITION SUMMARY:
1. Read food order tickets and correctly assemble the order with appropriate condiments and sides on a tray.
2. Deliver to table and make sure customer has everything they need to enjoy their meal.
3. Ensure your service area is kept clean and assist in other areas if needed.
4. Must be able to lift up to 30 lbs & stand for long periods of time.
5. Great communication, teamwork and work ethic is imperative.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Be ready to work at your scheduled time. This means clocked in, presentable appearance with uniform and name tag, and have work tools ready (trays, bar towel, writing utensil).
2. Check that your area is stocked and prepped for the shift. (boxes, plates, utensils, trays, sauces, cracker/croutons, etc.)
3. Serve food and desserts using the correct serving techniques. (refer to general serving guide) Use a tray; bring napkins, plates, utensils and sauces/sides. Do not stack plates on top of each other squashing meals or have your fingers touching anyone’s food. Make extra trips if necessary.
4. Ask guests if everything looks correct and if any additional items are required. Promptly get any items requested and if necessary, alert the server to any extras that are needed to be rung in, or mistakes corrected.
5. As you leave the table with an empty tray, try to pick up finished plates or glasses along the way. “Never go anywhere empty handed.”
6. If there are no tickets at a duration of the shift, CLEAN! There are daily cleaning lists and extra cleaning lists to be done.
7. If you are here after the kitchen closes, make and deliver any pizza orders that come in after 11pm.
8. When your shift is coming to an end be sure everything, including the pizza line, is clean, covered, and restocked.
9. When given permission from the bartender to leave, record your time out on the hour sheet at the bar, and clock out.
OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Perform other work duties as assigned.
2. Ensure bathrooms and walkways are clear of garbage and restock toilet paper, paper towels, and soap dispensers as needed.
3. Handle guest complaints in a professional manner and notify management of any complaints.
Qualifications:EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
1. Ability to read, write, and speak English well.
2. Ability to memorize food menu and table numbers.
PHYSICAL STANDARDS:
1. Be physically fit to greet and serve guests (walking, bending and standing) at a quick pace and in close quarters from three to five hours at a time.
2. Able to carry a tray full of food and not spill or drop.
3. Able to repeatedly stoop and bend to deliver food and condiments; sweep floor; clean windows, shelves, counters and floors.
4. Able to carry a tray full of plates weighing up to 20 pounds.
5. Able to perform light cleaning duties such as sweeping, vacuuming, and wiping tables and counters
Salary : $17 - $19
