What are the responsibilities and job description for the Line Cook position at LAKE BOWL INC?
Primary Objective of Position
To prepare menu items as ordered using grills, ovens, deep fryers, and other equipment. Preform prep work necessary to maintain adequate levels of product for use in preparing menu items or for use by restaurant employees. Ensure all prepared food products meet the quality expectations of the Company. Maintain a clean and hazard free work area.
Essential Functions
• Ensure all food orders are wholesomely prepared, attractively presented and completed in a timely fashion.
• Set up, maintain, or break down food lines. Stock and restock food lines as needed.
• Identify and preform prep work as needed following written recipes and procedures where applicable.
• Wash, sanitize and store dishes, tableware and kitchen utensils. Clean and sanitize work surfaces, and dispose of waste properly.
• Verify freight deliveries and insure freight is stored promptly and in the appropriate locations.
• Operate and maintain equipment in a safe and proper manner. Report malfunctioning or damaged equipment to supervisor.
• Keep kitchen equipment and surfaces clean and free from food and grease build up.
• Stay active during slow periods by preforming prep work or cleaning duties.
• Understand and follow Company policy (Lake Bowl Inc. Employee Handbook).
Qualifications:Qualification Standards
• Stands, moves and walks 6-8 hours per shift with frequent bending and stooping. Uses Hands 99% of the time.
• Works frequently in a hot and damp environment.
• Must be able to read menu orders.
• Must be able to hear verbal requests from fellow employees amid loud background noise.
• The individual must be able to transport/lift up to 50 pounds on occasion and up to 35 pounds regularly.
• Must maintain a valid State of Washington Food Service Workers Permit.
