Position Description:
Lake Born’s Farmers Market Barista leads on-site execution at local markets and pop-up events. This role is responsible for driving daily sales, preparing and serving high-quality coffee beverages, and converting customers into long-term Lake Born supporters through retail bag sales and brand engagement.
The Barista sets up and breaks down the tent, maintains a clean and organized workspace, manages product inventory throughout the shift, and tracks daily sales performance. This position directly impacts revenue growth and brand presence in the community and is expected to operate with energy, efficiency, and ownership.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES & DETAILS:
Schedule-
- Every Saturday May - November / December (market-dependent)
- Hours: 7-8am until 1-2pm
Responsibilities-
- CORE
- Represent the Lake Born brand in tone, appearance, and conversation
- Shifts begin at the Lake Born Outpost location for equipment pickup
- Arrive at market location early enough to be prepared and open based on market guidelines
- SET UP & BREAK DOWN
- Set up tent, tables, and coffee items
- Brew hot drip coffee onsite
- Ensure the stand is clean and presentable
- Discard garbage and breakdown the stand area
- Ensure a clean environment before leaving and that nothing is left behind
- Must be able to lift up to 40lbs and stand for extended periods of time
- Must own a vehicle to transport market equipment
- MARKET SALES
- Brewed coffee and cold brew sales
- Retail coffee (12oz bag) sales
- CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE
- Greet every market customer with energy and authenticity
- Create repeat customers through positive interaction and engagement
- INVENTORY MANAGEMENT
- Track on-site inventory levels throughout the shift
- Promptly communicate low-stock items
SUCCESS IN THIS ROLE LOOKS LIKE:
- $500 in daily gross sales as a baseline target
- 10–15 retail bags sold per market
- Consistent upselling language used with every customer
- Efficient service flow during rush periods
- Zero cash handling discrepancies
- Professional, brand-aligned appearance and setup
COMPENSATION:
- $16 per hour
