Throttle Racing Club is a first-of-its-kind coffee and sim racing lounge opening in Denville, NJ. We’re building a community hub for motorsport enthusiasts—blending specialty coffee with high-end racing simulators to create a social, high-energy environment for both casual guests and dedicated racers.
Position Overview:
We are looking for an experienced, part-time Barista who brings both skill and personality to the bar. This role goes beyond traditional café service—you’ll also help guide guests through our racing simulator experience, making you a key part of the overall atmosphere.
This is an ideal role for someone who enjoys hospitality, thrives in social environments, and wants to be part of building something unique from the ground up.
What a Week in the Life Looks Like:
Weekday Shifts (Monday–Friday):
Mornings and afternoons are steady and community-driven. You’ll prepare high-quality coffee, connect with regulars, and create a welcoming environment for remote workers and locals. You’ll also assist guests with booking simulator sessions and getting set up for their races.
Afternoons & Evenings:
The energy builds as sim racers and groups come in. You’ll balance drink preparation with helping guests check in, get situated in the simulators, and ensure their experience runs smoothly.
Weekend Shifts:
Weekends are our busiest and most vibrant. Expect a fast-paced, high-energy environment where you’ll be making drinks, managing simulator flow, booking sessions, and working closely with your team to keep everything running seamlessly.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and serve specialty coffee and espresso drinks to a high standard
- Deliver a friendly, welcoming, and engaging guest experience
- Assist guests with booking, check-in, and onboarding for simulator sessions
- Learn and operate racing simulators to support guest experiences
- Use POS to process coffee, merchandise, and gift card sales
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the café, simulator area, and restrooms
- Complete light cleaning tasks, including restroom maintenance (rotational)
- Restock supplies and support daily operations
- Contribute to a positive, team-oriented environment
Core Expectations:
- Maintain regular and consistent attendance and punctuality
- Follow all store operating policies and standards, including beverage and food quality, cash handling, and safety/security procedures
- Prepare food and beverages according to standard recipes or customize to customer preferences
- Remain flexible and ready to perform a variety of tasks throughout each shift
Qualifications:
- Previous barista experience required
- Positive, outgoing, and team-oriented attitude
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Comfortable learning new technology (simulators, booking systems, POS)
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Reliable, punctual, and proactive

Schedule & Availability:
- Part-time: approximately 15–25 hours per week
- Availability required for Monday–Friday and weekends
- Typical shifts may include mornings, afternoons, and evenings
Compensation:
- $16 – $20 per hour, based on experience
- Be part of a team-based tip pool, with tips shared and distributed to support a collaborative environment and provide additional earning potential

Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand for extended periods
- Ability to lift and carry up to 25–40 lbs (e.g., milk, supplies)
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, active environment
Opening Timeline:
Training is expected to begin shortly before opening, with our official launch planned in the near future.
