Veterinary Technology Program, LaGuardia Community College; Long Island City, NY

The Veterinary Technology Program seeks a part-time veterinary assistant to join our team and support operations at the Veterinary Technology Center (VTC).

General Responsibilities

Under the supervision of the Program Director and Senior Licensed Veterinary Technician (CLT), the veterinary assistant:

• Supports animal husbandry, patient care, and coursework.
• Feeds and medicates animals, maintains clean and safe enclosures, and assists with environmental enrichment.
• Assists LVTs and veterinarians as needed.
• Helps maintain equipment, supplies, and records.
• Assistants with scheduling and contributes to smooth daily operations.
• Ensures compliance with all safety regulations and hygiene standards.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma and at least two years of experience in a veterinary setting.
• Team oriented with strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to follow instructions while working independently to ensure the health and safety of animals in your care.
• Experience with small animal care; exotic animal experience a plus.
• Flexible availability for part-time hours.

Compensation

• $31.22 – $45.11 per hour.
