About the Role
We are looking for a curious and commercially minded Product & Market Research Intern to help us understand what products we should build, who we should build them for, and how they can stand out in the market.
You will research potential products and categories for our existing and future brands, understand customer needs and behaviors, analyze competitors, and identify opportunities and gaps in the market.
This is not a data science or technical analytics role. We are looking for someone who can combine research with strong consumer and product sense and turn information into useful insights and recommendations.
Key Responsibilities
• Research potential new products, categories, features, and collections for our brands
• Identify potential opportunities based on customer needs, market trends, competitors, demand, and brand fit
• Conduct deeper research on selected product opportunities to support product development
• Analyze competitors, including products, pricing, positioning, customer feedback, strengths, and weaknesses
• Research target customers and help develop customer profiles/personas, needs, preferences, and purchase motivations
• Analyze reviews, surveys, social media, websites, reports, and other sources to uncover patterns and opportunities
• Support research for new brands, including competitive landscape, positioning, differentiation, and potential USPs
• Turn research into clear insights and actionable recommendations for team review
• Communicate progress, questions, and interesting findings proactively with the team
Requirements
• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, Consumer Psychology, Entrepreneurship, Communications, or a related field
• Strong interest in consumer products, brands, consumer behavior, startups, and market trends
• Strong research and critical-thinking skills
• Able to understand customer needs and evaluate product and brand fit
• Curious and willing to dig beyond surface-level information
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Organized, detail-oriented, and able to work independently
• Comfortable using spreadsheets to organize research
• Comfortable using generative AI tools such as ChatGPT or Claude to improve research workflows
Nice to Have
• Experience with consumer, competitor, product, or market research
• Experience with surveys or customer research
• Interest in DTC, e-commerce, lifestyle, fashion, jewelry, design, beauty, or other consumer categories
• Familiarity with social listening, keyword research, or e-commerce tools
