Lafayette Family YMCA Early Childhood Program
Positions Available:
- Infant/Toddler Resource Educator
- Preschool Resource Educator
Pay Range: 17.00–19.00/hour
Hours: Full time, Monday-Friday. Specific schedule will be determined based on program needs and may vary to provide coverage throughout operating hours.

The Resource Educator is an experienced and dependable educator who provides support across multiple classrooms within their assigned age group. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys helping others, working in different environments, mentoring coworkers, and stepping in wherever needed to help the program run successfully.
Resource Educators are not formal supervisors. Instead, they serve as experienced peer mentors and resources for our Early Childhood team.
Responsibilities Include:
- Supporting multiple Infant/Toddler or Preschool classrooms
- Providing classroom and ratio coverage as needed
- Mentoring and supporting Early Childhood Educators and Lead Early Childhood Educators
- Assisting with training and onboarding new employees
- Modeling positive child interactions, supervision, classroom management, and YMCA expectations
- Supporting classrooms during challenging behaviors, transitions, and staffing needs
- Helping maintain consistency between classrooms
- Providing support at the front desk and in the kitchen as needed
- Communicating classroom, staffing, or safety concerns to program leadership
- Maintaining flexibility and being willing to assist wherever needed within the Early Childhood Program
