Pay Range: 18.00–20.00/hour
Hours: Full time, Monday-Friday. Specific schedule will be determined based on program needs and may vary to provide coverage throughout operating hours.
The Lafayette Family YMCA is seeking a dependable, organized, and motivated individual to join our Early Childhood leadership team as an Early Childhood Program Specialist.
This position supports the overall operation of our Early Childhood Program by providing staff leadership, classroom support, administrative assistance, and coverage throughout the center. This is a flexible position and is not permanently assigned to one classroom.
Responsibilities Include
- Provide daily leadership, guidance, and support to Early Childhood staff.
- Support and coach Educators, Lead Educators, and Resource Educators.
- Conduct classroom walkthroughs and help maintain program expectations.
- Assist with staffing, ratios, breaks, and classroom coverage.
- Address routine staff concerns and provide appropriate feedback and follow-up.
- Assist with onboarding and training new employees.
- Provide front desk coverage and assist families as needed.
- Assist in the kitchen with meal and snack preparation, service, and cleanup.
- Maintain and organize staff files, training records, and required documentation.
- Monitor missing or expiring staff documentation and communicate needs to administration.
- Maintain confidentiality of staff, child, and family information.
- Assist with additional program and administrative responsibilities as needed.
Qualifications
- Early Childhood experience required; 2 years preferred.
- Strong attendance, reliability, and professionalism.
- Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to provide direction and constructive feedback to staff.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Comfortable working throughout the center, including classrooms, front desk, and kitchen.
- Demonstrates initiative, flexibility, accountability, and leadership.
