Industrial Maintenance Assistant

We are seeking a 1st shift Industrial Maintenance Assistant to support our Maintenance team in repairing and maintaining machinery, equipment, and facility systems. This role is hands-on and requires someone eager to learn, detail-oriented, and committed to maintaining a safe and efficient work environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist Maintenance Technicians with repairs and upkeep of machinery, equipment, and building systems.
• Dismantle machines, replace defective parts and motors, and adjust feed mechanisms.
• Clean, lubricate, and maintain machine parts such as shafts, pulleys, gears, and bearings.
• Replace or repair machine belts and clear dust, dirt, grease, and debris from equipment.
• Support basic plumbing and electrical work, including cutting and threading pipe, sealing joints, and making wall/ceiling/floor openings.
• Perform light carpentry tasks such as building or repairing worktables, benches, shelves, and other fixtures.
• Patch or replace drywall/plaster and paint walls, ceilings, and trim.
• Assist in diagnosing and repairing electrical issues such as blown fuses, tripped breakers, shorts, or open circuits.
• Safely use tools such as multimeters, clamp-on ammeters, screwdrivers, and pliers to test and maintain equipment.
• Provide materials, tools, and supplies to Maintenance Technicians and the Maintenance Manager.
• Keep work areas, tools, and equipment clean and organized.
• Perform other routine duties as assigned to support the Maintenance team.

Qualifications & Skills

• Ability to perform basic electrical troubleshooting and mechanical repairs.
• Familiarity with common hand tools, measuring tools, and power tools.
• Physically able to handle hands-on work (lifting, bending, climbing, standing for long periods).
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Experience in Plastics industry preferred.
• Reliable, detail-oriented, and able to work safely in an industrial environment.
