Job Title: Shipping Scheduler / Logistics Coordinator
1st Shift
1st shift. Pay Rate: DOE ($20-$23).
Hours: 7:00AM-3:30PM- Days: Monday-Saturday.
Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Shipping Scheduler / Logistics Coordinator to oversee outbound shipment scheduling, shipping documentation, reporting, and carrier communication. This role serves as a key point of contact between logistics, production, sales, carriers, and vendors to ensure timely and accurate shipment of finished goods and materials.
Key Responsibilities
- Schedule outbound shipments of finished goods, materials, and other products.
- Set, update, and maintain the shipping schedule.
- Move appointments as needed to support production optimization and efficiency.
- Communicate with carriers regarding appointments, changes, and reschedules.
- Coordinate with logistics and production teams to meet company objectives.
- Proactively work with carriers and vendors to ensure shipping goals are achieved.
- Follow up with carriers who miss scheduled appointments.
- Distribute the daily shipping schedule to all stakeholders.
- Ensure all shipping paperwork is accurate, complete, and prepared on time.
- Update and maintain the Master Freight Report and distribute it weekly.
- Maintain carrier scorecards, including:
- On-time performance
- Service issues
- Distribute carrier scorecards weekly.
- Send the Daily Shortage Projection Report and collaborate with production, sales, and scheduling teams to reduce and eliminate customer shortages.
- Manage all shipping-related product claims, including:
- Documentation of issues
- Communication between Accounts Payable, customers, carriers, and plant management
- Enter and maintain third-party pallet information.
- Serve as the initial and primary point of contact for the Logistics Department, providing load planners with accurate and timely shipping information.
- Answer phones, field questions, redirect calls, and troubleshoot issues as needed.
- Maintain company records and ensure filing systems are accurate and organized.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
