Duties
- Greet customers warmly and provide friendly, attentive service throughout their visit
- Prepare and assemble food items according to established recipes and quality standards
- Operate POS systems such as Aloha POS and Micros POS for accurate order taking and cash handling
- Manage cash register transactions efficiently, including processing payments and giving correct change
- Upsell menu items to enhance customer experience and increase sales revenue
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the front counter area, including bussing tables and food stations
- Ensure food safety standards are met by following proper handling, storage, and sanitation procedures
- Assist with food preparation tasks in the café or quick service environment as needed
- Support inventory management by restocking supplies and monitoring product freshness
- Handle customer inquiries professionally, resolve issues promptly, and promote a positive atmosphere
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely delivery of orders and smooth service flow
- Follow all safety protocols related to food handling, sanitation, and workplace safety standards
Experience
- Prior experience in food service or retail environments is preferred but not required; enthusiasm for learning is key!
- Familiarity with POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS is a plus
- Experience in quick service or fast food restaurants will help you excel in this role
- Strong time management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently during busy periods
- Proven ability to deliver excellent customer service with a friendly attitude
- Basic math skills for cash handling, register balancing, and retail math calculations
- Knowledge of food safety practices, sanitation procedures, and proper food handling techniques
- Previous experience in cashiering or serving in a café or grocery store environment is advantageous
