Air Conditioning Mechanic

SUMMARY

Install, service and repair air conditioning systems in auto, residences, and commercial establishments.

Reports to: Maintenance Supervisor

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES

Assigned Tasks:

• Communicate well with supervisor and manager. Must be able to accept written and verbal direction from supervisor and/or lead.
• Troubleshoot and repair air condition systems.
• Test pipes or tubing joints or connections for leaks, using pressure gauge or soap-and water solution.
• Test electrical circuits or components for continuity, using electrical test equipment.
• Repair or replace defective equipment, components or wiring.
• Install, repair, or replace air conditioning of autos, electric motors, fan blowers, dryers, expansion valves, condensers and evaporator.
• Discuss cooling system malfunction with supervisor and provide an accurate list of required replacement parts.
• Able to deal with frequent changes in priorities, delays or unexpected events.
• Identify and resolve problems in a timely manner by gathering and analyzing information in a skillful manner.
• Work in a fast paced environment
• Respond promptly and professional to internal customer needs.
• Must be able to install service and repair air conditioning systems in auto, residences, and commercial establishments.
• Install, connect, or adjust thermostats, humidistat and timers.
• Connect air conditioning equipment to fuel, water, or refrigerant source to form a complete circuit.
• Study blueprints, design specifications or manufacturers’ recommendation to ascertain the configuration of cooling equipment components and to ensure proper installation of components.
• Comply with all applicable standards, policies, or procedures, such as safety procedures or the maintenance of a clean work areas
• Install auxiliary components to cooling equipment, such as expansion or discharge valves air ducts, pipes, blowers, dampers, flues, or stokers.
• Must be able to perform work outside of the premises and attend service calls.
• Other various maintenance tasks as directed by the Supervisor or Maintenance Manager.

REQUIREMENTS

· Must have a valid CA drivers’ license

· High School Diploma or Equivalent

· Minimum 4yrs a/c experience or 2yrs experience with a Technical School Certificate.

· Must be able to work overtime when required, including weekends and holidays.

· Good written, verbal and math proficiency.

· Demonstrate problem solving abilities.

· Must be able to work independently with minimum supervision.

· Ability to work in extreme temperatures.

· Must have knowledge of how to use basic hand and power tools.

· Ability to lift up to 75lbs.

· Must be able to perform the following task for a period of 8 hours standing, stooping, walking, climbing, and lifting.

Pay: $20.00 - $28.00 per hour
