ACGME Program Coordinator City HeightsPosted 3 weeks ago La Maestra Community Health Center WebsiteLa Maestra Community Health Center Pay Range: $75,894.00 to $100,000.00 Annually, Depends on Experience (DOE) Location: City Heights Status/Hours: Full Time/Exempt Summary: The Family Medicine ACGME Program Coordinator at La Maestra Family Clinic is responsible for the administrative coordination and operational management of the Family Medicine Residency Program. This role involves ensuring compliance with ACGME (Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education) requirements, managing resident schedules, maintaining accurate records, and supporting both faculty and residents in achieving educational objectives. The Program Coordinator works closely with the Program Director, faculty, residents, and other clinic staff to ensure the effective functioning of the residency program, contributing to the clinic’s mission of providing high-quality care to underserved populations. Responsibilities: Administrative Responsibilities Manage the day-to-day operations of the Family Medicine Residency Program, ensuring compliance with ACGME standards and institutional policies. Coordinate all aspects of the residency program, including recruitment, onboarding, orientation, and graduation of residents. Updates competency-based rotation goals and objectives and distributes to residents and faculty annually Assists with producing and distributing manuals/handbooks for residents Schedule and coordinate resident rotations, didactics, and other educational activities, including entering and updating in NextGen. Maintain accurate records of resident performance, scholarly activities, evaluations, and milestones, as well as alumni information, ensuring timely documentation and reporting to the ACGME. Communicates directly with specialty board, specialty societies and other organizations Works with the GME office to ensure resident compliance with medical and controlled-substance licenses, DEA number, BLS/ACLS/PALS, USMLE, TB test, flu shot, N95 respirator mask fitting, and computer training requirements Evaluation/Credentialing Coordinates the distribution, tracking and filing of resident, faculty and rotation evaluations Drafts verification of training forms Tracks resident procedures in NextGen and the ACGME Case Log System Monitors residents’ board eligibility status Coordinates semi-annual resident reviews with associate program director, including portfolio review Monitors resident duty hours, runs monthly duty hour violation report and reports violation and action plan to the GME office Processes Moonlighting Authorization Forms Processes summative evaluations for residents’ completing or transferring out of the program Program Accreditation Assist in the preparation of accreditation documents, including the ACGME self-study, annual program evaluation (APE), and Clinical Competency Committee (CCC) meetings. Maintains accurate and easily retrievable records of resident training Completes annual ACGME program and resident updates Manages data for ACGME Next Accreditation System (NAS) Organizes special/internal review with the GME office, serving as a key participant in ACGME and GME office reviews Human Resources Processes and tracks resident absences Monitors resident morale and responds to concerns Assists in resident remediation Assists with due process for resident probation and termination Coordinates resident mentor program Professional Development Attends monthly GME office coordinator meetings Engages in life-long learning by taking courses the further professional growth, knowledge and expertise to enhance residency program management skills (through human resources, etc.) Actively participates at a national level in program coordinators’ association (if one exists for the specialty), or other national meetings, e.g. involvement in the annual ACGME Residency Coordinators Program or other relevant graduate medical education committees Pursues certification through Training Administration of Graduate Medical Education (TAGME) Job Requirements Four years of administrative experience, preferably in an academic setting, or equivalency Excellent communication and interpersonal skills including written and verbal, problem solving, diplomatically handles problems of a sensitive and/or confidential nature Accounting, bookkeeping, word processing and typing skills may also be required Preferred knowledge of the following: NextGen, ERAS, NRMP, ACGME WebADS Preferred understanding of the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) requirements for Institutional, Common, and program requirements and the accreditation process Verbal and Written Skills to perform the job: Familiarity with basic word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications. Accurate keyboarding skills. Technical knowledge and skills required to perform the job: Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills and the demonstrated ability to work with diverse individuals and groups. Demonstrate high levels of self-initiation and direction. Knowledge of communities we serve. Knowledge and experience working in medical settings and interacting collaboratively with medical teams. Skill in analyzing situations and making timely decisions. Physical and Mental Requirements: Work involves sitting, talking, hearing, using hands to handle, feel or operate objects, tools, or controls, and reaching with hands and arms.
