Role Description
Project New Village is 501(c)3 nonprofit organization seeking to pilot a project to gauge the viability of including added value products to our Mobile Farmers Market and developing a new food access option, a subscription produce box.
I. Added Value Products
Work with Morse High School’s Culinary Arts Program Instructor to plan and coordinate production and packaging of the value-added products and pre-packaged foods so that students can prepare these products for sale in the community.
II. Golden Groceries Club
Launch a subscription produce package to get the freshest produce and farm goods to community members, while supporting local agriculture and a healthier food system.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with Morse High School Culinary Project to integrate locally-grown produce and locally prepared value-added products,
- Cooperate with PNV team to source local and hyperlocal produce.
- Coordinate activities, including outreach to senior group living facilities and individual households to notify them about Hyper-Local Packs (Golden Groceries).
- Coordinate weekly planning, sourcing, and packaging of the Hyper-Local Packs (Golden Groceries),
- Coordinate integration of nutritional/health education materials,
- Conduct surveys and other evaluation methods to track participant satisfaction and customers serviced.
Qualifications:
- Must have current Vaccines and Immunization
- Commitment to the mission and vision of the organization
- Ability to think, assess and act decisively in handling multiple tasks concurrently.
- Excellent internal and external communication skills,
- Demonstrated relationship-building skills; possesses solid judgment, critical thinking skills, and a sense of teamwork and community.
- Experience in or with multi-cultural/lingual communities
Hours / Compensation / Benefits:
- Nonexempt employee with an hourly wage at $22.00 / hour for 30 hours per week
