Cash Application Specialist

Position Summary:

L2R Consulting is seeking an organized, professional, and detail-oriented AR / Cash Applications Specialist for a client opportunity in Miramar, FL. The role supports cash applications, collections follow-up, client payment communication, remittance support, documentation, and AR coordination with internal teams. The right candidate must be accurate, reliable, and able to manage AR details without constant handholding.

Schedule

8:30 AM - 5:30 PM with 1-hour lunch, or 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Workplace

Hybrid, likely Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday in office; may transition to full in-office

Language

Strong English required; bilingual English/Spanish is a plus

Key Responsibilities:

• Process and post cash applications accurately and on time, including payment posting and remittance support.
• Support collections activity, including follow-up on selected aging accounts and client payment outreach.
• Research and resolve payment discrepancies, unapplied cash, short payments, missing remittance, and account questions.
• Work closely with AR, inside sales, finance, and other internal teams to resolve customer payment issues.
• Handle marketing, rebate, vendor portal, or customer portal items tied to payment identification and support.
• Maintain clean documentation and properly save, name, organize, and store payment files in the company system.
• Support reporting, reconciliation, month-end close, and audit documentation as needed.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience in accounts receivable, cash applications, collections support, billing, or related accounting work.
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and documentation habits.
• Comfortable communicating with clients by phone and email regarding payments, balances, and documentation.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel; experience with accounting systems, ERP tools, portals, or shared drive systems preferred.
• Ability to handle high-volume transaction details accurately, professionally, and confidentially.
