What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Supplier Quality Engineer position at L&T Technology Services?
Job Description & Skill Requirement:
•Spend significant time at supplier sites in Northridge to provide on-the-floor support during Mold trials (T0, T1). Collaborate with toolmakers to optimize gate locations, cooling lines, and venting
•Mold & Process Validation: Lead the execution and review of supplier validation protocols, specifically IQ/OQ/PQ for injection molding equipment and processes. Ensure technical rigor in scientific molding principles, including window studies and DOE (Design of Experiments)
•Metrology & Measurement Systems: Define Receiving Inspection Requirements (RIR) and perform Test Method Validations (TMV). Direct suppliers on advanced metrology techniques, including GD&T, Gauge R&R, and Cpk analysis using Minitab
•Lead pFMEA (Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis) workshops with suppliers to identify and design out risks early in the tooling process
•Lead investigations into complex part failures (e.g., splay, jetting, dimensional instability, or structural cracking). Utilize scientific molding data and metrology results to identify the physics behind the failure
•Supplier Coordination & Development: Act as the technical liaison between Medtronic NPD (New Product Development) teams and suppliers to clarify design intent and assess manufacturability
•Quality Compliance: Manage the PPAP (Production Part Approval Process) for new or changed molded parts. Lead root cause investigations (CAPA) and resolve non-conformances (NCMR) directly at supplier sites
•Deep understanding of Scientific Injection Molding (SIM) principles. Ability to read Mold flow analysis and correlate it to actual part performance
•Ability to perform and interpret complex data sets in Minitab to prove process stability
Qualification:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Mechanical, Plastics, Industrial, or related)
- 6 to 8 years of relevant experience in Supplier Quality or Quality Engineering
- Direct expertise in Injection Molding (Scientific Molding, resin behavior, and mold design)
- Proficient in GD&T, Statistical Process Control (SPC), and Measurement System Analysis (MSA)
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and solve financial challenges creatively

The expected salary range for this position is between $61,000 to $1,10,000 annually. The actual salary may vary based upon several factors including, but not limited to, relevant skills/experience, time in role, base salary of internal peers, prior performance, business line, and geographic/office location.
Salary : $61,000 - $110,000
