Responsibilities :
- Tooling, Molding, and Process Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Existing Product
- Lead and approve current project improvements and development validations for injection molds and tooling support systems.
- Provide technical guidance to internal teams during mold maintenance and qualification.
- Provide technical guidance for the molding machine, hot runner controllers, mold temp controllers, raw material conveyor system,
- Basic understanding of custom robotic post molding takeout systems
- Injection Molding Process Development
- Define and optimize injection molding processes for an existing product.
- Conduct process capability studies, Design of Experiments (DOE), and root cause analyses to improve quality and throughput.
- Oversee molding trials, validation runs (IQ/OQ/PQ), and process documentation for current product changes.
- Understand raw material process impacts
- Strategic Planning & Innovation
- Scout and evaluate advanced tooling technologies and auxiliary equipment to help drive safety and efficiency.
- Recommend capital investments and tooling standardization initiatives for existing product.
- Write capital justifications to obtain funding.
Project Management
- Support R&D with tooling-related aspects of cross-functional New Product Introduction programs from concept through production ramp-up to our production environment.
- Maintain project timelines, cost targets, and risk mitigation plans.
- Collaborate with suppliers, contract manufacturers, and our global teams.
- Support our quality systems and initiatives
- Technical Mentorship & Compliance
- Mentor junior engineers and technicians on best practices in tooling and molding.
- Work with R&D to ensure tooling designs meet regulatory, safety, and quality standards in our current manufacturing environment.
- Maintain documentation and change control in compliance with internal and external quality systems for medical devises.

The expected salary range for this position is between $50,000 to $90,000 annually. The actual salary may vary based upon several factors including, but not limited to, relevant skills/experience, time in role, base salary of internal peers, prior performance, business line, and geographic/office location.
