What are the responsibilities and job description for the Teaching Assistant - LS Academy position at L-S Academy?
Lincoln-Sudbury Regional High School is seeking a Teaching Assistant to provide support in our substantially separate program, outside of the main high school, commencing at the start of the 2026-2027 school year.
Duties and Responsibilities (Not limited to):
- Provide support to high school students on an IEP by attending classes, taking notes, helping students with executive functioning skills, and assisting students in a variety of ways listed in their IEPs
- Work closely under the supervision of special educators and clinical staff in the program
- Work collaboratively with other members of the LS Academy milieu team
- Support the supervision of students in the milieu, as well as other duties, as directed
Qualifications:
- Minimum of an associate's degree, bachelor’s degree preferred
- Excellent communication skills
- Strong organizational skills
- Flexibility
- Must be the kind of person who is warm, caring, respectful, and has a strong desire to work with students, as well as a willingness to learn
- Capacity to work as a member of a team
Experience Preferred:
- Previous experience working with special education students, especially those with significant social & emotional needs
Work Schedule:
- 10 Months, 182 Days: 180 student days, plus 2 professional development days
- M/T/Th/Fr 8AM-3PM:7 hours per day with a 30 minute unpaid lunch (6.5 actual work hours/paid hours)
- Wednesday 8AM-1PM: 5 actual work hours/paid hours
