Class B Flatbed Driver

Job Summary

We are seeking a motivated and experienced Class B Flatbed Driver to join our dynamic transportation team. In this role, you will be responsible for safely operating flatbed trucks with manual transmissions, delivering freight to various locations while ensuring compliance with all federal and state regulations. Your expertise in handling different types of cargo, including hazardous materials and oversized loads, will be essential to maintaining our high standards of safety and service. Responsibilities

• Safely operate Class B flatbed trucks equipped with manual transmissions across designated routes, adhering to all DOT (Department of Transportation) and FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations.
• Load and unload freight using manual handling techniques, forklifts, or other equipment as required, ensuring cargo is secured properly on flatbeds.
• Transport various types of cargo including freight, hazardous materials, or specialized equipment such as tanker or roll-off trucks, following all safety protocols.
• Use GPS navigation systems to plan optimal routes, monitor traffic conditions, and ensure timely deliveries.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections on vehicles to identify maintenance needs or safety issues before and after each trip.
• Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, cargo details, delivery records, and inspection reports in compliance with DOT regulations.
• Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers to coordinate pickups and deliveries while providing excellent customer service.

Requirements

• Valid Class B commercial driver’s license (CDL) with a clean driving record and 2 years minimum experience .
• Proven experience in commercial truck driving, particularly with flatbed trailers and route driving.
• Proficiency in operating manual transmission trucks and familiarity with refrigerated trailers, tanker trucks.
• Ability to handle freight manually or using equipment such as forklifts or dump trucks safely and efficiently.
• Knowledge of FMCSA regulations, DOT requirements, and safety standards.
• Strong understanding of logistics cargo handling processes including load & unload procedures for various types of freight.
• Excellent navigation skills utilizing GPS systems; ability to plan routes effectively under tight schedules.
• Physical ability to lift heavy loads and perform manual handling tasks required for loading/unloading cargo.
