Location: Black Rock, Arkansas

A leading industrial minerals and frac sand producer is seeking an experienced Plant Manager to oversee mining and processing operations. This leadership role is responsible for driving safety, production, operational excellence, environmental compliance, and profitability across both the processing facility and mine operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Meet with VP weekly to cover the preceding week and expectations for the coming week.
• Responsible for costs whereby all segments of the plant meet or exceed operating budget.
• Direct, coordinate and oversee the day-to-day operations of plant production to ensure quality and meet monthly production goals, both at the processing plant as well as the mine.
• Develop and maintain a cordial working relationship with local Trainmasters, as well as all team members involved in the movement of our products by rail.
• Understand all permit requirements: air, process water, storm water, groundwater regulations relating to this site
• Championing a safety culture within all departments working with Safety Director onsite
• Oversee the identification of workplace hazards through workplace inspections, risk assessment and ongoing job safety analysis when appropriate
• Assist with annual operating budgets and recommend capital expenditure requests (CER's) and other process improvements
• Direct the management team and help to drive daily decisions impacting the plant profitability
• Mentor direct reports to be able to grow into positions of higher responsibility
• Conduct and encourage involvement with weekly production staff meetings
• Foster an environment where continuous process improvement initiatives are promoted
• Oversee crew schedules - ensure all crews are filled with competent labor
• Ensure team members are skilled in the expected tasks to be performed; intervene accordingly
• Analyze and resolve mobile equipment problems, or assist operators and maintenance personnel in problem solving
• Review work orders generated on mobile and plant equipment
• Ability to work in a fast-paced work environment and deal with changes, delays, or unexpected events
• Complete special projects as assigned on time

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of plant management experience within the frac sand, industrial minerals, aggregates, mining, or bulk materials industry.
• Frac Sand industry experience is required.
• MSHA certification is required.
• Strong understanding of mining operations, mineral processing, production management, and heavy mobile equipment.
• Experience managing environmental and regulatory compliance programs.
• Proven ability to lead teams, improve operational performance, and manage budgets.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced manufacturing and mining environment.
