About Us
We are an emergency vehicle dealership and upfitting company that builds and services fire trucks, ambulances, rescue units, command vehicles, and chief cars. Our fabrication team designs and builds custom command boxes and specialty components that support first responders in the field. We are currently seeking a Command Box Fabricator Assistant to work alongside our lead fabricator in the construction of command boxes and other custom emergency vehicle components.
Position Summary
The Command Box Fabricator Assistant supports the fabrication and assembly of command boxes and related components used on emergency vehicles. This is a hands-on role ideal for someone with mechanical aptitude who enjoys working with tools, wood, poly , and custom builds. The assistant will help with measuring, cutting, assembling, finishing, and installing fabricated parts while learning industry-specific fabrication techniques.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the lead fabricator in building command boxes and custom components for emergency vehicles
- Measure, cut, drill, and assemble aluminum, steel, poly, wood and other materials
- Help with fitting, mounting, and installation of fabricated components
- Operate hand and power tools safely (grinders, drills, saws, rivet guns, etc.)
- Assist with basic fabrication prep and finishing
- Read and follow fabrication drawings, work orders, and instructions
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
- Assist with material handling and inventory related to fabrication projects
- Perform quality checks to ensure components meet specifications and standards
- Support other shop and build tasks as needed
Qualifications
- Mechanical aptitude and ability to work with hand and power tools
- Previous shop, fabrication, or construction experience REQUIRED
- Ability to read a tape measure and perform basic math
- Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn
- Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team
- Reliable, punctual, and safety-focused
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work on your feet in a shop environment
- Experience with emergency vehicles, automotive, or truck upfitting is a plus
