Job Description:
Role and Responsibilities: Lead the planning, implementation, and support of workspace systems and IT end user infrastructure solutions from concept to deployment such as personal computers, printers, scanners, and other end user devices. Runs complex operational/technical projects and ensures long-term requirements of workspace systems management and planning. Serves as a primary contact for workspace operations topics for Plant Spartanburg ensuring alignment with client-defined standards. Participate in proof-of-concept (POC) evaluations and provide expert guidance on implementing secure, scalable, and high-performance IT infrastructure end user solutions. The successful candidate will be organized, self-motivated, and able to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
· Serve as a subject matter expert (SME) for IT end user systems, including how they interface with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure), storage solutions (SAN, NAS), cybersecurity frameworks (firewalls, intrusion prevention, encryption), and other infrastructure (mobile devices, video conferencing systems).
· Deploy, configure, and maintain IT end user infrastructure components such as laptops, mobile devices, printers, and peripherals.
· Oversee vendor management and collaborate with external providers for the deployment and support of IT end user services.
· Ensure high availability of systems by implementing redundancy, backup strategies, and disaster recovery solutions.
· Optimize IT infrastructure performance through monitoring, capacity planning, and proactive issue resolution.
· Adhere to compliance and audit requirements by enforcing security policies, implementing access controls, and supporting regulatory standards.
· Manage ITIL processes, including problem and change management, incident response, and configuration management to ensure service stability and operational efficiency.
· Manage escalations of unresolved, singular incidents or service requests after an end user escalation.
· Document IT end user infrastructure design, configurations, and best practices to enhance knowledge sharing and continuous improvement.
· Lead end user infrastructure lifecycle management, including upgrades, patching, and decommissioning to maintain system reliability and security.
· Collaborate with global IT teams to standardize processes, align on best practices, and support cross-functional IT initiatives.
· Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior technicians, ensuring adherence to IT standards and driving skill development.
· Research and evaluate emerging technologies, including automation, cloud-native services, and AI-driven IT operations to drive innovation and efficiency.
· Communicate end user infrastructure strategies and solutions to technical and non-technical stakeholders ensuring clarity in decision-making processes.
· Serves as an IT project manager for small-medium sized projects overseeing resources assigned, conducting status meetings, and effectively communicating project status to stakeholders as delegated by the client Supervisor.
· Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Education and Experience: BS/BA in Information Technology OR AA/AS degree with 2 years of professional experience OR 4 years of equivalent IT experience.
· Industrial Work Technician – production devices – PCS, Cameras, scanners, make production possible – IP addresses, Windows, office, production environment (good with heights, productions critical role. Weekend and holiday work required (manager wants this to not be a surprise to the candidate when interviewing- Most important work time when the plant is shut down. Some occasional work after hours.
· Half of the role (industrial workspace devices) and the other half (IT Delivery Manager)– make people happy. Escalate issues – if things aren’t functioning correctly. Customer escalations.
· 5 years of experience managing enterprise end user IT systems, including end user software systems, client virtualization, hardware, and security concepts.
· Experience in manufacturing environments is preferred.
· Windows 10/11, Active Directory
· Office 365 product suite, including OneDrive and Microsoft Teams Rooms (video conferencing)
· Acronis DR
· LAN/WAN networking (DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP, etc)
· Routers, switches, access points, and firewalls (including rules)
· Laptops, printers, Zebra scanners (Android), radios, IoT devices
· Collaboration toolsets (JIRA, Confluence, SharePoint, Microsoft Teams)
· 5 years of experience demonstrating strong communication skills in IT environments. Strong customer service mindset is required.
· 2 years of junior leadership experience, mentoring teams or managing IT projects.
· Demonstrate 2 years of experience in supplier/vendor management.
· Apply 1 years of agile methodology principles in IT infrastructure projects.
· Utilize 5 years of experience in IT applications, tools, and technology to enhance operational efficiency.
· Technical skill sets – need to be expert in hardware and software platforms.
· Have someone that is solution oriented. Can find the solution themselves.
· Understanding of Agile Mythology – JIRA (no master but familiar in tools)
Training (Preferred): 6 Sigma / LEAN methodology. 5S/6S methodology.
Licenses and/or Certifications (Preferred): ITIL certification. CompTIA A , CompTIA Network . AWS CCP / Azure Fundamentals or similar. PMI CAPM, PMP
