What are the responsibilities and job description for the Vice President of Sales position at KYXSTART?
KYXStart is modernizing how financial institutions and fintechs verify identity, onboard customers, and confirm payments — faster, smarter, and with less friction. Our products span auto-fill, KYC/identity verification, and payment account verification, helping banks, credit unions, and fintechs deliver seamless, compliant customer experiences at scale.
We have strong early traction, notable customer wins, and a product that solves a real and growing problem in financial services. We're now looking for a senior sales leader to help us scale.
The OpportunityThis is a pivotal leadership role reporting directly to the CEO. As VP of Sales & Revenue Growth, you will take our existing momentum — active pipeline, early customer wins, and a growing outbound motion — and build the revenue engine to take KYXStart to the next level.
You will be a true player-coach: personally closing SMB and enterprise deals while building and coaching the team, aligning sales and marketing, and owning early customer success to ensure our customers land well and expand over time.
If you are energized by accelerating a company at its inflection point — where foundation is in place and the opportunity is to scale — this role is for you.
What You'll DoDrive Revenue Growth
- Own and grow the sales pipeline — accelerate existing opportunities, expand outbound activity, and personally close deals across SMB and enterprise segments
- Develop and execute a go-to-market strategy targeting fintechs, neobanks, banks, and credit unions
- Build and manage a high-performing SDR/BDR team — define target buyer personas, refine outreach cadences, and create a culture of accountability and continuous improvement
Lead with a Player-Coach Mindset
- Report directly to the CEO and serve as a key member of the leadership team
- Collaborate closely with Sales Engineering, Product, and the broader leadership team on deals, customer feedback, and GTM strategy
- Bring market insight and customer intelligence into strategic discussions — be the voice of the market internally
Align Sales & Marketing
- Partner with Marketing to ensure outbound campaigns, account-based marketing (ABM), and segment-specific targeting are tightly coordinated with sales priorities
- Drive alignment between sales and marketing on ICP definition, messaging by segment, and pipeline contribution metrics
- Ensure fintech and financial institution buyers are engaged with differentiated, relevant outreach
Own Early Customer Success
- Take ownership of early account management for new customers — ensure strong onboarding, rapid time-to-value, and high satisfaction in the critical first 90 days
- Work with Customer Success Engineering and technical support to resolve integration and implementation challenges quickly
- Design and execute land-and-expand playbooks — identify expansion triggers and multi-product opportunities across auto-fill, KYC, and account verification
Build the Revenue Function
- Define sales stages, forecasting cadences, and pipeline hygiene standards
- Build compensation structures and territory frameworks that scale with the team
- Establish and grow a partner and channel motion — leveraging ecosystem relationships with core processors, payment networks, and fintech platform partners
Experience & Background
- 8–14 years in B2B SaaS with at least 4–5 years in financial services — selling digital onboarding, identity verification, KYC/AML, payments, fraud prevention, regtech, compliance infrastructure, or data products
- Proven track record closing both SMB and large enterprise deals — and running both motions simultaneously
- Experience selling to fintechs and neobanks as well as traditional banks and credit unions — and understanding the distinct buyer dynamics of each
- Background building and scaling SDR/BDR teams in a growth-stage environment
- Familiarity with the regulatory landscape — KYC/AML, BSA, open banking — sufficient to hold credibility with compliance and risk buyers
Skills & Competencies
- Exceptional at multi-stakeholder selling — navigating product, engineering, compliance, risk, and finance within the same deal
- Strong cross-functional collaborator — comfortable working alongside Sales Engineering, Product, and Marketing as peers
- Data-driven approach to pipeline management, forecasting, and team performance
- Experience with usage-based / transactional SaaS models alongside traditional ACV deals
- Ability to build and execute partner and channel strategies in fintech ecosystems
The Right Mindset
- Thrives in a growth-stage, startup environment — comfortable with ambiguity, energized by building, and joins with traction in place knowing how to accelerate it
- Equally comfortable as an individual contributor and as a team builder and coach
- Brings a strong network in fintech and financial services they can activate immediately
- Operates with urgency, rigour, and a genuine passion for the problem KYXStart is solving
- Direct impact — report to the CEO and shape the commercial trajectory of the company
- Real traction — join with notable early customers, active pipeline, and a product with clear product-market fit
- Strong support — Sales Engineering, Product, and Customer Success Engineering are in place to support you and your customers
- Attractive package — highly competitive base salary, uncapped performance bonus, and meaningful equity in a company at an inflection point
We're looking for candidates with experience selling into financial services technology — including segments such as digital onboarding, identity verification, KYC/AML, payments, fraud prevention, regtech, compliance infrastructure, or data and analytics products.
