Duties
- Assist with landscape maintenance tasks including mowing, trimming, pruning, planting, and watering to keep outdoor areas pristine.
- Operate groundskeeping equipment such as lawn mowers, power tools, irrigation systems, and snow plows safely and efficiently.
- Identify plants, trees, and shrubs to ensure proper care and health; apply horticultural knowledge for plant health improvement.
- Perform landscape installation projects including hardscape work like patios or walkways, as well as planting beds and garden setups.
- Manage irrigation systems by inspecting, repairing, and adjusting sprinklers to ensure optimal watering schedules.
- Follow safety protocols diligently during all outdoor work activities to prevent accidents and maintain a secure work environment.
- Support seasonal tasks such as snow plowing or fall cleanup to keep properties accessible and attractive year-round.
Requirements
- Prior outdoor work experience or background in grounds maintenance or landscaping preferred.
- Mechanical knowledge combined with experience operating landscaping equipment and hand tools.
- Strong understanding of landscape maintenance practices including mowing, edging, pruning, and plant identification.
- Familiarity with pesticide management, irrigation systems, and horticulture principles is a plus.
- Ability to follow safety procedures meticulously while working with power tools and heavy equipment.
- Excellent physical stamina for lifting, bending, digging, and working outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Valid driver’s license preferred; ability to operate grounds maintenance equipment safely required.
