What are the responsibilities and job description for the Litigation Associate position at Kubicki Draper?
Our Miami office seeks a talented Associate with 2 years of civil or commercial litigation experience, preferred. Background in insurance defense, premise liability, construction, and other complex litigation a plus.
Your Day-to-Day:
- Draft/review and respond to substantive pleadings, motions, and discovery
- Attend/chair hearings, depositions, mediations, and meetings with clients, as well as negotiate settlements
- Assist with trial preparation and/or attend trial.
- Must be competent & proficient in the use of Word, Microsoft Office, PowerPoint & Excel
- Communicate in a highly effective manner with team members and clients
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, evolving environment
- Previous experience in civil and commercial litigation is preferred
- Strong skills in legal research, writing, and persuasive oral advocacy
- An intrinsic client-first approach, ensuring impeccable service
- Previous experience in insurance defense is an asset, though not mandatory.
- A hunger for growth, a customer-first mindset, and impeccable organizational skills
- Member of Florida Bar in good standing, required
