Role Description The Freight Broker is a full-time, on-site role based in Rydal, GA. This position is responsible for sourcing and securing freight from customers, negotiating rates, and matching loads with qualified carriers to ensure timely and cost-effective transportation.
Day-to-day tasks include managing load boards, coordinating dispatch activities, tracking shipments, and proactively resolving issues or delays. The Freight Broker position will build and maintain strong relationships with shippers and carriers, handle inquiries, and provide consistent, professional customer service.
The role also involves maintaining accurate documentation, updating transportation management systems, and collaborating with internal team members to support overall operational efficiency.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong Freight Brokerage and Brokerage skills, including rate negotiation and carrier sourcing.
- Candidates should possess solid Customer Service and Account Management skills to build and retain shipper and carrier relationships.
- Candidates should possess Dispatching skills to coordinate drivers, manage schedules, and monitor shipment progress.
- Candidates should have knowledge of transportation industry regulations, carrier safety standards, and basic logistics principles.
- Candidates should demonstrate effective communication, problem-solving, and time-management abilities.
- Candidates should be proficient with McLeod TMS and load boards.
- Previous experience in logistics, trucking, or transportation operations is strongly preferred.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education in business, logistics, or a related field is a plus.
