Job Title: Freight Broker
Job Type: Full-time (In-Person)
Schedule: Monday–Friday | 8-hour shift
Pay: $41,600–$58,962 per year (base) incentives (commission/bonus)
About the Role
We’re hiring a motivated, detail-oriented Freight Broker to join our logistics team. In this role, you’ll connect shippers with carriers, negotiate rates, and manage freight from initial booking through final delivery. You’ll work in a fast-paced environment where strong communication, follow-through, and relationship building are essential.
What You’ll Do
- Negotiate freight rates and terms with carriers to secure competitive pricing and service levels.
- Manage shipments end-to-end—from lead generation and booking through delivery confirmation and issue resolution.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with shippers and carriers to grow and retain business.
- Coordinate transportation planning to meet customer requirements and delivery timelines.
- Partner with 3PL providers and internal stakeholders to optimize supply chain solutions.
- Monitor market conditions (capacity, lanes, pricing) and identify new business opportunities.
- Maintain accurate shipment records, updates, and documentation in internal systems.
What We’re Looking For
- Preferred: experience in logistics, freight brokerage, dispatch, or transportation coordination.
- Strong negotiation and relationship-building skills (able to communicate confidently with customers and carriers).
- Comfortable with data entry and transportation systems; experience with EDI is a plus.
- Sales/lead generation experience is a plus.
- Solid understanding of transportation planning and supply chain fundamentals.
- Organized, responsive, and able to manage multiple shipments in a high-volume setting.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
