Role Description The Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP)/Physician Assistant will provide comprehensive primary and urgent care services to patients in an on-site clinical setting in Williamsburg, VA. In this full-time role, the clinician will perform patient evaluations, take medical histories, conduct physical exams, order and interpret diagnostic tests, and develop evidence-based treatment plans. Day-to-day responsibilities include managing chronic conditions, addressing acute concerns, prescribing medications, and coordinating care with specialists when needed. The FNP/PA will educate patients and families on disease prevention, wellness, and treatment options, while maintaining accurate documentation in the medical record and adhering to clinical protocols and regulatory standards. The role also involves collaborating with other healthcare professionals to ensure safe, high-quality, and patient-centered care.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated competence in Family Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant practice, with experience managing a broad range of primary care needs.
- Strong foundation in Nursing and Medicine, including patient assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, and follow-up.
- Proficiency in Primary Care across the lifespan, with skills in preventive care, chronic disease management, and health promotion.
- Experience in Urgent Care settings, including triage, acute illness and injury management, and appropriate use of diagnostics.
- Current, unrestricted FNP or PA license and national certification, with eligibility to practice in Virginia.
- Graduate degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program.
- Excellent communication, clinical documentation, and interpersonal skills, with a commitment to equitable, inclusive patient care.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team and adapt to evolving clinical protocols and best practices.
- BLS/ACLS certification and experience with electronic health record (EHR) systems preferred.
