Litigation Attorney (Contract/ 1099)
Boutique Law Firm – Kansas City Area (Local In-Court Appearance Required)
Part-Time | 10–15 Hours/Week | Flexible Schedule
Our client, a respected boutique law firm in the Kansas City area, is seeking an experienced Litigation Attorney to join their team in a freelance/1099 capacity. This is a unique opportunity for a reliable, self-directed attorney who is interested in a flexible position with potential for growth into more defined hours.
What You'll Do:
- Handle light litigation caseload, including court appearances in Kansas City metro area
- Support in managing cases, calendaring deadlines, and preparing for hearings
- Participate in legal research, drafting pleadings, and advising on litigation strategy
- Work on contracts, business and real estate-related matters
- Coordinate with a small, collaborative legal team on an as-needed basis
Ideal Qualifications:
- J.D. from an accredited law school
- Active license to practice law in Kansas and/or Missouri (required)
- 3–5 years of litigation experience, with comfort appearing in court
- Excellent follow-through, organizational, and time management skills
- Strong communication skills and a proactive, professional demeanor
- Work within a virtual organization
- Interest in contracts, business and real estate law (a plus, not required)
