Krueger Sheet Metal, a sheet metal manufacturer, commercial roofing contractor, and architectural sheet metal installer, is seeking a Project Engineer/Project Manager to estimate and manage roofing, waterproofing, and sheet metal projects. Position Summary: We are seeking an experienced Roofing Project Engineer/Project Manager to oversee roofing and/or architectural sheet metal projects from bidding through closeout. The ideal candidate will manage crews and subcontractors, ensure projects meet schedule, budget, safety, and quality standards, and serve as the primary on-site client contact. Attention to detail, organization skills, self-motivation, and the ability to work in a team environment are required and will ensure success in the position.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage multiple commercial projects concurrently from pre-construction through final inspection.
- Develop, maintain, and update project schedules; coordinate crews, subcontractors, suppliers, and equipment.
- Prepare and manage project budgets, track costs, change orders, and invoicing.
- Conduct on-site supervision to ensure work meets specifications, code requirements, and quality standards.
- Perform or coordinate material takeoffs, verifications, and ordering.
- Communicate project status, risks, and milestones to clients and company leadership; maintain accurate daily reports.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA and company safety policies; conduct jobsite safety briefings.
- Read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and scope-of-work documents.
- Facilitate final inspections, warranty documentation, and project closeout.
Required Qualifications:
- 3 years of experience managing roofing projects (metal, TPO/EPDM, modified bitumen, etc.) or equivalent construction project management experience.
- Proven track record of completing projects on time and within budget.
- Strong knowledge of roofing materials, installation methods, and building codes.
- Solid understanding of construction estimating, scheduling, and cost control.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills; customer-facing experience.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office; experience with construction management software (e.g., BlueBeam, Procore, etc.) preferred.
- Valid driver’s license; ability to travel to jobsites and work outdoors in varying conditions.
- OSHA 10/30 or similar safety certification preferred.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Four-year degree or similar.
- A minimum of 2 years related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Experience with commercial roof systems and large-scale projects.
Compensation & Benefits:
