The Team Lead plays a key role in driving accuracy, productivity, and continuous improvement while supporting production and shipping needs.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Oversight
- Direct daily activities of warehouse associates to ensure timely and accurate order fulfillment, inventory management, and part flow.
- Act as the first point of contact for warehouse staff questions or issues.
- Train, mentor, and coach team members on proper procedures, safety, and best practices.
- Provide feedback to management on team performance, workload, and process improvements.
- Assist in scheduling and assigning daily tasks to meet operational priorities.
- Follow all OSHA protocols and enforce the expectations with all team members, including forklift logs, PPE requirements, and Hazmat protocols.
- Oversee picking, stocking, and kitting, activities to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
- Operate material handling equipment, including forklifts and pallet jacks, to safely move and organize inventory.
- Support inventory audits, cycle counts, and root cause analysis of discrepancies.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse environment in compliance with company safety policies and OSHA requirements.
- Collaborate with other departments (Inventory, Production, Purchasing, Shipping) to support smooth operations.
- Serve as acting supervisor when the Inventory Manager is unavailable.
- Identify and recommend process improvements to enhance warehouse efficiency and accuracy.
- Participate in warehouse reorganization projects, layout changes, and 5S initiatives.
- Assist in implementing new procedures, tools, or technology.
- Minimum 3 years of direct warehouse supervisor or team lead experience in a manufacturing or distribution environment.
- Valid forklift certification with strong hands-on experience operating a forklift safely.
- Proven ability to lead and motivate a team while fostering a positive work environment.
- Strong knowledge of warehouse processes, safety protocols, and material handling equipment.
- Proficiency with ERP/WMS systems and advanced computer skills, including Excel and inventory tracking tools. JobBoss2 experience is highly preferred.
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to lift 60 lbs. and stand/walk for extended periods.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional training or certification is a plus.
