Job Description

GENERAL JOB SUMMARY:

Prepares shelters, pieces, and parts for paint.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Receives verbal and written instructions.
• Receives units, washes/rinses, and dries with cloth.
• Removes masking from holes and cleans with solvent.
• Vibrates spot weld marks, scratches, excess sealer and adhesive.
• Check the surface to be painted for dents, hand buffs dents, and fills with J7 body filler.
• Vibrates filler to achieve a smooth surface.
• Cuts paper using patterns, covers, and mask areas not to be painted.
• Tack rags unit to remove lint and dust and move to the paint booth.
• Use vibrator in completion of operation.
• Other duties may be assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

• Ability to maintain sensitive and confidential information as required by government standards.
• Ability to interact effectively with peers and supervisors.
• Ability to interact appropriately with the public when necessary.
• Ability to adhere to workplace rules.
• Basic computer skills required.
• Ability to read, write, and follow written instructions.
  
  

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 3-6 months of on-the-job experience required.
  
  

WORK ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Shop floor environment.
• Ability to stand and sit for long periods of time.
• Ability to perform repetitive motion (rotating wrists, keyboarding, using small/large tools).
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to tolerate constant noise (i.e. machine motors).
• Ability to pass a Pulmonary Function Test.
• Ability to follow standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
