- On-site Presence: Monitor safety efforts of Kovach employees, conducting project safety “Tool Box” meetings weekly and enforcing safety guidelines. Arrive at the job site promptly at the required start time as indicated by the Project Superintendent.
- Culture: Promote the Kovach safety culture
- Safety Compliance: Become familiar with Kovach’s safety compliance including enforcement and reporting.
- Coordinate: Coordinate with project supervision so that necessary personal protective equipment and safety materials are available and are utilized correctly.
- Safety and Communication: Strictly adhere to Kovach's safety protocols and job site-specific requirements. Immediately communicate any safety concerns to the Project Superintendent or Foreman.
- Injury Reporting: In the event of an injury on-site, report it without delay to the Company Safety Director.
- Problem Identification: Proactively identify and assist in mitigating hazards in the workplace.
- Planning: Assist in creating daily pre task planning and other required safety paperwork.
- Team Collaboration: Ensure the well-being of fellow employees on-site, promoting a team-centric environment.
- Continuous Learning: Demonstrate initiative in the tasks performed and continually seek to grow in knowledge and understanding of the Kovach scope of work.
- OSHA 30-hour certification (issued within the past 3 years)
- 3 years’ experience of prior work history as a designated construction safety coordinator/representative.
- Strong knowledge on fall protection, boom lifts, rigging, and cranes.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
- Effective communication and team collaboration skills.
- Knowledge of safety protocols in a construction environment.
