Korn Ferry has partnered with our client on their search for the role, Vice President, M&A Integration.
Role Overview
Role Overview The VP, M&A Integration serves as the operating program manager for the Integration Management Office (IMO), with accountability for planning, coordinating, and driving execution of all post-merger integration workstreams across the combined platform. This role is the connective tissue between the executives’ strategic integration vision and the day-to-day work happening across business units, functional leaders, and shared services. This is a high-visibility, high-accountability role in a PE-backed environment where speed and discipline matter equally.
The VP, Integration must be as comfortable building a governance structure as they are facilitating a difficult conversation between two legacy leadership teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Own the master integration plan — workstream coordination and tracking, dependency mapping, milestone accountability, and escalation protocols
- Standup and operate the IMO operating rhythm: weekly status reviews, executive steering updates, and cross-workstream syncs
- Maintain a live integration scorecard with clear status for each workstream, surfaced to the board
- Identify and resolve integration blockers proactively; escalate where executive decision-making is required
- Coordinate integration activities across all major functional areas: IT systems consolidation, HR/total rewards harmonization, finance and reporting alignment, branding and go-to-market, and client/contract continuity
- Partner with the CTO on AI adoption rollout and technology program extension from the company to the full combined platform
- Work closely with PDG (Platform Delivery Group) leadership on resource model alignment between legacy company shared service structures
- Interface with BU EVPs and Presidents (Infrastructure, Federal/DoD, LS&I, Energy/Power/Data Centers, Commercial Nuclear, Federal Nuclear/DOE) to understand BU-level integration needs and surface risk.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for integration program status with ACP PE operating partners
- Draft and maintain integration communications cadence for internal stakeholders — from frontline managers to the SLT
- Navigate legacy culture dynamics sensitively; build trust across heritage teams
- Support the CFO and CTO in tracking integration-related cost and revenue synergies against the deal thesis
- Maintain documentation and reporting to support PE sponsor review cycles and board updates
- Flag risks to synergy timelines early and propose corrective actions
Ideal Candidate Profile
- 8–15years of experience, including direct hands-on leadership of post-merger integration programs in professional or technical services
- Prior exposure to PE-backed environments strongly preferred; understands deal thesis, sponsor cadence, and value capture dynamics
- Experience in engineering, or technical services is preferred
- Big4 or boutique advisory background in PMI/strategy welcome, particularly candidates transitioning to an operating role
- Proven ability to manage complex, multi-workstream programs with cross-functional dependencies and senior stakeholder visibility
- Exceptional program management discipline — experienced with structured IMO methodologies, governance design, and executive reporting
- Strong executive communication skills: able to synthesize ambiguity into clear status, risk, and decision requests for a C-suite audience
- High
- EQ and cultural fluency — this integration involves two distinct
- firm identities and requires a builder of bridges, not just a tracker of tasks
- Analytical orientation: comfortable working with financial models, synergy trackers, and operational data without needing a team to translate
- Bias for action and ownership; operates independently between check-ins and doesn't wait to be told what to do next
