Job Description:
The Controller will serve as a key member of the finance and accounting leadership team, working directly with senior leadership to drive strong accounting fundamentals while supporting the operational needs of a high-growth business.
This is a hands-on role requiring someone willing to wear multiple hats and take ownership across a broad scope of responsibilities beyond traditional accounting. Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, organize, and implement accounting processes and procedures to promote strong internal controls with continuous focus on process improvement.
- Maintain and reconcile the general ledger, including all sub-ledgers.
- Manage month-end, quarter-end, and year-end financial close activities.
- Prepare and present US GAAP financial statements in an accurate and timely manner.
- Support project accounting activities, including tracking project costs, revenue recognition, and profitability analysis.
- Assist senior leadership with the annual budgeting and forecasting process.
- Monitor Accounts Receivable to ensure payments are accurate and timely; follow up on overdue accounts.
- Review and approve Accounts Payable vouchers and payment selections.
- Create and calculate KPIs for the leadership team as part of ongoing performance tracking.
- Champion the year-end audit by coordinating with the external CPA firm and providing requested information.
- Support the annual tax process by tracking estimated tax payments and coordinating with the external tax advisor.
- Proactively identify and implement process improvements and system enhancements to support business scalability.
Qualifications:
- An undergraduate degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA certification is strongly preferred
- 5 years of relevant experience required; Big Four public accounting background strongly preferred. Ideal candidates include those transitioning directly from a Big Four firm or stepping into their first Controller role (e.g., from an Accounting Senior Manager position).
- B2B or B2C services industry experience with exposure to project accounting is preferred, PE backed experience is strongly preferred
- Ability to operate effectively in a smaller, entrepreneurial company environment and handle broad responsibilities beyond technical accounting
- High adaptability, strong work ethic, and a growth mindset — comfort with ambiguity and willingness to roll up sleeves
Salary Range & Benefits Overview:
- $150,000 - $170,000 bonus
