Job Description:
The Property Accounting Manager will oversee the property level financial operations, managing a team of two to handle the daily, weekly, and monthly processes, financial reporting (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow), variance analysis, budget support, and audit management. This role will also be responsible for helping to develop and maintain accounting processes and procedures to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
Key Responsibilities:
Reporting and Close Processes
- Oversee and ensure timely completion of the month-end process
- Provide guidance on property treatment/coding of expenses
- Maintain monthly close calendar & deadlines
- Review of financial reports prepared by the accounting team
- Review and approve journal entries prepared by the accounting team
- Prepare and review monthly financial statements (income statements, balance sheets, cash flows)
- Review and completion of monthly CapEx entries, including closing out and reconciling WIPS
- Prepare proposed property cash distributions monthly
- Assist with preparation and maintenance of department SOPs
- Ensure that proper documentation is maintained based on relevant internal policies and procedures
- Support Internal and External audit processes
- Prepare quarterly fixed asset schedules and roll forward
- Preparation of property level forecasting such as cashflow, taxes, etc.
- Provide support & guidance to the teams in preparation of the annual budgets/forecasting
- Oversee Lender Reporting requirements
- Prepare and record various journal entries as needed
Leadership/Collaboration
- Directly Manage the Senior Property Accountant and Property Accountant
- Provide coaching and create development plans for growth on the team
- Lead collaboration with the operations teams to include monthly calls and regular training
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
- 5 years of accounting experience
- Direct management/supervisory experience preferred
- Experience in real estate, multifamily highly preferred
- Experience working with multiple entities and consolidations
- Yardi, Nexus, Paycom, and/or Concur experience preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, SharePoint)
- Organized and detail-oriented

- Confidence and maturity to make thoughtful decisions based on collaborative feedback
- Strong writtenand verbal communication skills

Salary Range & Benefits Overview: $115,000 - $130,000 10-15% bonus, medical, dental, vision, 401k
