Korn Ferry Military Division has partnered with our client on their search for a Machine Shop Supervisor based out of their Richardson TX facility. This role will start off training in Dallas TX, then move to the new facility in Richardson.

Compensation: $75,000-85,000
What You Will Do:
This is a fabrication and machining leadership role overseeing build operations tied to metalwork, machining, and structural components. Will plan, organize, supervise, and control the operations of machining unit, i.e., general machining, tool room, press operations, sheet metal, welding, etc., or a small machining operation in its entirety engaged in fabrication parts for company products
- Supervises machining activity engaged in fabrication parts for company products.
- Recommends, determines, or provides tooling and equipment necessary to fabricate tools, fixtures, component parts, and assemblies.
- Develops efficient area layout, material flow, and economic fabrication methods in conjunction with Manufacturing Engineering.
- Coordinates with Engineering in the fabrication of parts for prototype or experimental products where there is no established documentation or specifications.
- Assists in preparing operating budgets and manages effective expense control.
- Establishes department’s short term needs for manpower, equipment, and facilities, and assists in determination of long-term needs.
- Assures that department adheres to schedules and assists in determining schedules.
- Coordinates with other supervisors in effective utilization of labor, materials, and equipment.
- Assumes responsibility for proper equipment maintenance and good housekeeping practices.
- Exercises responsibility for training, developing, and motivating subordinates.
- Recommends personnel actions within department including hires, terminations, transfers, performance reviews, salary actions, affirmative action plans, and job assignments.
Education and Work Experience:
- Must have at least 4 years of US Military experience
- 3-5 years of experience in a machine shop environment with a minimum of 3 years in a supervisory role
- Associate’s degree highly preferred; Bachelor’s degree (especially in industrial technology, engineering, or equivalent) is a plus.
- Strong hands-on fabrication background; experience with: Sheet metal; Machining operations; Welding (TIG/MIG); Metal fabrication and repair
